CHAPTER 424
(Senate Bill 279)
AN ACT to add new subsections 51 (3), (4) and , (5) AND (6) to
Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition,
1968 Replacement Volume, as amended), title "Insurance Code,"
subtitle "Insurers: Authorization and General Requirements," to
follow immediately after subsection 51 (2) of said Article, to
require that each domestic insurer, including those subject to
Sections 276 through 361, having its home or executive office
within the geographical limits of this State keep its records and
assets in this State and to establish exceptions to such requirement.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new subsections 51 (3), (4), and (5) AND (6) be and they are
hereby added to Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(Volume 5, 1957 Edition, 1968 Replacement Volume, as amended),
title "Insurance Code," subtitle "Insurers: Authorization and Gen-
eral Requirements," said new subsections to follow immediately
after subsection 51 (2), and to read as follows:
51.
(3) Every domestic insurer, including those subject to Sections
276 through 361, having its home or executive office within the
geographical limits of this State shall keep within this State:
(a) its complete financial and GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNT-
ING records,
(b) its entire assets except:
(i) Real property and personal property appurtenant thereto,
OR MORTGAGES THEREON, lawfully owned by the insurer and
located outside of this State.
