general laws governing agency and contracts for the conveyance or
leasing of real estate. The executive director shall devote his entire
time to the duties of his office, and shall not hold any other position
or occupation or engage in any other business interfering with his
giving full attention to the work of his office or which might be
inconsistent with his duties and responsibilities as executive director
to the Commission.

(d) The Commission, subject to the approval of the Secretary of
Licensing and Regulation,
may also employ [and discharge, at its
pleasure] two or more field inspectors to make investigations as are
required by the provisions of Section 224 (a) of this subtitle, who
shall serve at the pleasure of the Commission. Said persons may
be removed without cause by either the Commission or the Secre-
tary of Licensing and Regulation, provided that the Commission
shall not remove said persons without the approval of the Secretary
of Licensing and Regulation.
The Attorney General of Maryland
may appoint a qualified attorney at law, who shall serve at the
pleasure of the Attorney General, to represent the Commission in
conducting hearings on charges against licensees and said attorney
at law shall receive such compensation as is provided in the budget
of the Commission.

215.

(a) The office of the Commission shall be selected by the Com-
mission, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Licensing and
Regulation.

ment and the Board of Public Works, as otherwise provided by law.]

215 A.

The exercise or performance of all powers, authority, duties,
and functions vested in the Commission by the provisions of this
subtitle, shall be subject to the power and authority of the Secre-
tary of Licensing and Regulation as set forth in Article 41 of this
Code, or elsewhere in the laws of this State.

Sec. 11. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 224A of Article 56 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition, 1968 Replacement Volume, and 1969
Supplement), title "Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," be
and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

224A.

(a)   The Commission may appoint, with the approval of the Secre-
tary of Licensing and Regulation,
three of its members to sit as a
real estate hearing board, which shall be a part of the Department
of Licensing and Regulation.
The Commission shall designate one of
the members as chairman of the board.

(b)  The Commission may refer charges or complaints made by
itself or other persons under the provisions of Section 224 to a real
estate hearing board for hearings on these matters. The board shall
hold hearings on all matters referred to it and shall submit its
findings and recommendations to the Commission. The exercise or
performance of all powers, authority, duties and functions vested
