in any fiscal year shall be repaid during the next succeeding fiscal
year from the proceeds of the administrative tax received by the
Commission from such county in the fiscal year last mentioned.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 359
(House Bill 869)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 77 of
Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Supple-
ment) title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle "State Em-
ployees," providing that State employees are entitled to a holiday
on Friday when a holiday which State employees are entitled to
observe occurs on a Saturday.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 77 of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment,"
subtitle "State Employees," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
77.
Every State employee shall be entitled to observe with pay the
legal holidays enumerated in Section 9 of Article 13 of this Code,
as amended from time to time, on the days provided in Sections 9
and 11 of Article 13 of this Code, as amended from time to time,
and if any of the holidays enumerated in Section 9 of Article 13
of the Code, as amended from time to time, should occur on
Saturday, the Friday immediately preceding shall be deemed and
treated as a holiday. Any State employee who from the nature of
his duties is required to work on any portion of any of these holi-
days shall be given compensatory time for such work.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1971.
