subtitle "Subtitle II. The Court," subheading "Part I. The Probate
Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
2-108.
(g) The salary of the judges of the court for Carroll County
shall be [twelve hundred dollars ($1,200)] fifteen hundred dollars
($1,500) per year to be paid monthly. Each judge shall also be al-
lowed one hundred dollars ($100) per year for traveling expenses,
payable quarterly.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act shall
be construed or applied to increase the salary of the judges of the
Orphans' Court for Carroll County who are in office on the effective
date of this Act, for the remainder of the term in which they then
are serving. It is the legislative intent that the increase in compen-
sation herein provided for judges of the Orphans' Court for Carroll
County shall take effect as of the first day of the term of the judges
elected to that position at the general election in the month of
November, 1970.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That subject to the provisions
of Section 2 hereinabove, this Act shall take effect on July 1, 1970.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 162 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1965 Edition,
1969 Supplement, being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "Sanitary
Districts," to increase the period of time that the St. Mary's
County Metropolitan Commission may pay interest on bonds out
of the proceeds of their sale, and correcting errors therein.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 162 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
County (1965 Edition, 1969 Supplement, being Article 19 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County,"
subtitle "Sanitary Districts," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
162.
(a) For the purpose of retiring the bonds authorized to be issued
by this subtitle and of paying the interest thereon, the Commission
shall cause to be levied, against all assessable property within said
sanitary districts for which said bonds have been issued, by the
County Commissioners of St. Mary's County annually so long as any
of said bonds are outstanding and not paid, a tax sufficient to pro-
vide such sum as the Commission may deem sufficient and necessary,
