CHAPTER 234
(House Bill 1488)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 405
(i) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Sup-
plement), title "Governor-Executive and Administrative Depart-
ments," subtitle "Ocean City Convention Hall Commission," au-
thorizing the Ocean City Convention Hall Commission to grant
concessions for the sale of FOOD AND BEVERAGES, INCLUD-
ING alcoholic beverages on the premises of the convention hall.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 405 (i) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Supplement), title "Governor-Executive and Adminis-
trative Departments," subtitle "Ocean City Convention Hall Com-
mission," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

(i) The Commission shall have the authority to make reason-
able charge for the use and rental of the facilities of the convention
hall, and to grant UPON THE BASIS OF COMPETITIVE BID-
DING, concessions on the premises of the convention hall to con-
cessionaires for the sale of FOOD AND beverages, including alcoholic
beverages subject to the provisions of Article 2B.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all
the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 235
(House Bill 1498)
AN ACT to add new Section 39A to Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs,"
subtitle "Compensation and Duties," to follow immediately after
Section 39 thereof, authorizing the Sheriff of Harford County to
employ auctioneers to conduct sales of property and providing for
the charging of the costs of these sales.
