total sum of forty five hundred dollars (4,500.00) annually. The
other commissioners shall receive a [salary of two thousand seven
hundred dollars ($2,700)] total sum of forty two hundred dollars
EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSION-
ERS OF GARRETT COUNTY SHALL RECEIVE AS SALARY
A TOTAL SUM OF FORTY-TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($4,200.00) annually. These [salaries] sums shall be paid in month-
ly installments and [each commissioner shall receive] shall include
an annual expense allowance of [up to] six hundred dollars
($600.00). The balance is salary.
Any member of the Board of County Commissioners violating
any provisions of this subtitle shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a forfeiture of office.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the incumbents in
office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this
Act shall take effect with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

(House Bill 1386)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 205 of
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (1968
Edition, and 1969 Supplement, being Article 15 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Kent County," subtitle
"County Treasurer," to increase the salary of the deputy treasurer
in Kent County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 205 of Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Kent County (1968 Edition and 1969 Supplement, being Article 15
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Kent County,"
subtitle "County Treasurer," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
205.
The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy Treasurer who shall qualify
under the Constitution of the State, and shall give such bond to the
Treasurer as he may require, and the deputy Treasurer shall receive
as compensation effective July 1, 1966, an annual salary of [Thirty-
eight Hundred Dollars ($3,800.00)] five thousand dollars ($5,000),
payable in equal monthly installments. [The County Commissioners
may supplement the salary of the Treasurer by an amount not to
exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
