CHAPTER 40
(House Bill 258)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2-108(h)
of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," subtitle "Subtitle II: The
Court," subheading "Part 1: The Probate Court," changing the
salary of the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Cecil County and
making provision for the effectiveness of this Act.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2-108 (h) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Decedents' Estates," subtitle
"Subtitle II: The Court," subheading "Part 1: The Probate Court,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
2-108 (h).
[Each of the Judges of the Court for Cecil County shall receive
the sum of ten dollars ($10) for every day's attendance upon the
sessions of the Court.] The salary of the Judges of the Court for
Cecil County shall be twelve hundred dollars ($1,200.00) per year.
Each Judge shall also receive an allowance for traveling expenses of
two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per year, to be paid quarterly
by the County Commissioners of Cecil County.
Sec. 2. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to affect the com-
pensation for Judges who are in office on the effective date of this
Act, for the remainder of the term in which they then are serving;
however, the Act shall apply to those Judges elected at the General
Election of November 1970, and thereafter.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That except as provided in Sec.
2 this Act shall take effect July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 41
(House Bill 266)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 32(i) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License
Provisions," clarifying the parties to which certain alcoholic bev-
erages licenses may be issued in Cecil County, and providing for
responsibility of the licensees.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32(i) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local
Licenses and License Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
