2830                               Municipal Charters

(57)    Engineer IV

Graduation from a university or college of recognized standing with
major work in Engineering and six (6) years' experience in professional
engineering, two (2) years of which must have been at the level of Engineer
III; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements: Possession of or eligibility for a Professional
Engineer's License.

(58)    Deputy Chief, Bureau of Engineering

Graduation from a university or college of recognized standing with
major work in Engineering and seven (7) years of professional engineering
experience, one (1) year of which must have been at the level of Engineer
IV, Bureau of Engineering; or any equivalent combination of education
and experience.

Special Requirements: Possession of or eligibility for a Professional
Engineer's License.

(59)    Chief, Bureau of Engineering

Graduation from a university or college of recognized standing with
major work in Engineering and seven (7) years of professional engineer-
ing experience, two (2) years of which must have been at the level of
Deputy Chief, Bureau of Engineering; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience.

Special Requirements: Possession of or eligibility for a Professional
Engineer's License.

(60)    Carpenter

Graduation from a recognized high school, three (3) years of ex-
perience as a journeyman carpenter; or any equivalent combination of
education and experience.

(61)    Trades Helper

Completion of a standard grade school course and preferably one (1)
year of experience as a helper to a skilled tradesman; or completion of a
standard trade school or high school course; or any equivalent combination.

(62)    Sign Painter

Experience in general maintenance and painting work, including some
experience in sign painting and silk screen painting, preferably including
some experience in traffic and sign maintenance work and completion of
grammar school; and preferably completion of trade school; or any equiva-
lent combination of education and experience.

(63)    Automotive Mechanic

Completion of a standard high or trade school course, preferably
some experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic, and three (3)
years' experience as a Trades Helper in a repair shop; or any equivalent
combination of experience and training.

(64)    Senior Automotive Mechanic

Graduation from a recognized high school or  its equivalent, plus

completion of fully qualifying training and five (5)  years of diversified

experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic.  Experience may be
substituted for high school graduation.
