Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, That this Act shall
take effect sixty (60) days after its enactment.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and returned to the
Council, stands enacted on September 4, 1969.

An Act to enact new Sections 1.200 and 1.201 of the Howard County
Code, title "Administration" subtitle "Personnel", to establish an
Executive Pay Plan fixing the term and compensation of the officers
and employees in the executive branch exempt from the Classified
Service.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Sections 1.200 and 1.201 be and
they are hereby added to Title 1 of the Howard County Code, "Administra-
tion", subtitle "Personnel", to read as follows :

1.200—Exempt Service

All officers and positions of the County are divided into the Classified
Service and the Exempt Service. The Exempt Service shall include the
following:

(1)    All elected officials and members of boards and commissions.

(2)    Volunteer personnel and personnel appointed to serve without
pay.

(3)    Consultants and counsel rendering temporary professional
services.

(4)    All temporary, seasonal and part-time employees.

(5)    Non-supervisory employees paid on an hourly basis.

(6)    The following officers and employees listed in the Executive Pay
Plan-
Secretary to the County Council

County Auditor

County Administrator

All members of the Office of Law

Director of Finance

Director of Planning

Director of Public Works

Chief of Police

Fire Administrator

Director of Recreation and Parks

Secretary to the County Executive

The following officers and employees in the Exempt Service shall
receive an annual salary to be set by the appointing authority within the
following limits:
