Code, and approved as the result of the inspections made by its committee.
Such approval in writing shall constitute authority for the director of
finance to pay over to the several qualifying fire companies the amounts
provided by section 27-1 of this Code.

Section 10. Section 86-4, Chapter 86, title "Fire Prevention Code"
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

86-4. Administration and enforcement of chapter.

The division of fire protection, under the direction of the fire marshal
is hereby authorized and directed to administer and enforce the provisions
of this chapter.

Section 11. Section 86-19, Chapter 86, title "Fire Prevention Code"
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

86-19. Annual report of fire marshal.

The fire marshal shall prepare and submit annually a report to the
county executive summarizing the activities of his office and containing
tabulations of all fires, together with their causes and estimated amounts
of damage.

Section 12. Subsection (a) of Section 95-13, Chapter 95, title "Plumb-
ing and Gas Fitting" of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

95-13. Administration of chapter; right of entry.

(a) This chapter shall be administered by the director of the depart-
ment of inspection and licenses.

Section 13. Subsections (a) and (j) of Section 96-5, Chapter 96, title
"Police" of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

96-5. Superintendent of police generally.

(a) Generally. The superintendent of police is the chief executive
officer of the division of police protection and in the exercise of his duties
he shall be subject to such orders, rules and regulations as may be issued
by the county executive from time to time and he shall be responsible to
the county executive for the proper and efficient conduct, control and
discipline of the division of police protection. * * *

(j) Reports and recommendations. The superintendent of police
shall make a written report annually to the county council and county
executive as to the operation of the police division, for the fiscal year
ending June 30, and shall submit recommendations for improvements,
and he shall make such other general and special reports as may be
required.

Section 14. Section 98-2, Chapter 98, title "Quarries" of the Mont-
gomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

98-2. Enforcement of chapter.

This chapter shall be enforced by the director of inspection and
licenses, the county police and other agents of the county, under the
direction of the county executive.
