Montgomery County                               2665

Section 7. Section 2-47, Chapter 2, title "Administration" of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2-47. Powers, duties and functions.

The department of inspection and licenses shall have the following
functions:

(a)    Zoning Ordinance, etc. The administration and enforcement
of the Zoning Ordinance and other regulations adopted by the board of
county commissioners or the council under the Maryland-Washington Re-
gional District Act and of any ordinance or regulation adopted by the
council under Article 66B of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957, as
now or hereafter amended.

(b)    Codes, etc. adopted under section 2-24. The administration and
enforcement of any standard, code or regulation, except the Fire Code,
adopted under section 2-24 of this Code.

(c)    Codes, etc., adopted under section 3-5. The administration and
enforcement of any ordinance, standard, code or regulation adopted under
section 3-5 of this Code.

(d)    Other functions. Such other functions as may be prescribed
by law.

Section 8. Section 2-49, Chapter 2, title "Administration" of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2-49. Services and facilities.

The chief administrative officer shall make available to the depart-
ment of inspection and licenses the services and facilities of other depart-
ments and agencies of the county government to the extent he deems
necessary adequately to carry out the functions of the department of
inspection and licenses.

Section 9. Section 2-50, Chapter 2, title "Administration" of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2-50. Established; appointment, etc., of librarian.

There is hereby established a department of public libraries under
the immediate direction of a professionally qualified and experienced li-
brarian. The recommendations of the Montgomery County Library Board
hereinafter established shall be received and considered by the county
executive before a librarian is appointed.

Section 10. Section 2-52, Chapter 2, title "Administration" of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2-52. Library board—Established; composition; term of members.

There is hereby established a Montgomery County Library Board
composed of seven members to be appointed, subject to the confirmation
of the county council, by the county executive from the county at large.
The supervisor of school libraries shall be an ex-officio member of such
board. Of the members originally appointed, one-third, as nearly as may be,
shall be appointed for a term of two years; one-third for a term of four
