as amended, to establish an annual salary of $35,000 for the County
Executive of Montgomery County, Maryland, for the performance of
his public duties.

Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County, Maryland,
that—

Section 1. A new section 1-20 of the Montgomery County Code 1965,
as amended, is hereby added as follows:

Sec. 1-20. Compensation of County Executive.

The County Executive of Montgomery County, Maryland, shall be
paid for the performance of public duties under the Charter of Mont-
gomery County, Maryland, thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) per
annum.

Section 2. Effective Date. This Act shall take effect at noon on
December 7, 1970.

An Act pursuant to the authority granted to the County Council
of Montgomery County, Maryland, by the County Charter, Section
107, to add a new Section 1-21 to the Montgomery County Code 1965,
as amended, to establish annual salaries of $12,000 for the President
of the County Council and $10,000 for the other members of the
County Council, Montgomery County, Maryland, for the performance
of their public duties.

Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County, Maryland
that—

Section 1. A new section 1-21 of the Montgomery County Code
1965, as amended, is hereby added as follows:

Sec. 1-21. Compensation of Members of the County Council.

The compensation for the members of the County Council shall be
fixed at twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) per annum for the President
and ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per annum for the other members for
the performance of public duties under the Charter of Montgomery County,
Maryland.

Section 2. Effective Date. This Act shall take effect at noon on
December 7, 1970.
