Anne Arundel County                            2585

(1)   Delete from the first sentence of "b", the words "and 3", and all
words following "rigid pipe". Make the word "tables", singular.

(2)   End the second sentence of "b" at the word "column" and delete
the remaining portion of this sentence. Also delete the words "and 4".

(3)   Delete the last sentence of "b" starting with "The serving gas

(48)    Delete "d" in its entirety and substitute the following: "d.
To determine the size of each section of gas piping in a system within
the range of tables 2, 7,8, proceed as follows:

(1)   Determine the gas demand of each appliance to be attached
to the piping system. When Table 2 is to be used to select the piping
size, calculate the gas demand in terms of cubic feet per hour for each
piping system outlet. When Tables 7 or 8 are to be used to select the
piping size, calculate the gas demand in terms of thousands of BTU
per hour for each piping system outlet.

(2)    Measure the length of piping from the gas meter or service
regulator when a meter is not provided, to the most remote outlet in
the building.

(3)   In Tables 2, 7 or 8, whichever is appropriate, select the column
showing that distance or the next longer distance if the Table does not
give the exact length. This is the only distance used in determining
the size of any section of gas piping.

(4)   Use this vertical column to locate all gas demand figures for
this particular system of piping.

(5)   Starting at the most remote outlet, find in the vertical column
just selected the gas demand for the outlet. If the exact figure of demand
is not shown, choose the next larger figure below in the column.

(6)   Opposite this demand figure, in the pipe size column in Tables
2, 7 or 8, will be found the correct size of gas piping.

(7)   Proceed in a similar manner for each outlet and each section
of gas piping. For each section of piping determine the total gas demand
supplied by that section."

(49)   In "e" at top of page 54-117, delete words "through 5", from
this paragraph.

(50)   Delete tables 3, 4, 5 and 6 as they appear on pages 54-120,
54-121 and 54-122.

(51)   On page 54-117, "Use of Capacity Tables", (1) delete from
the second sentence of 1, the words "through 5"; (2) delete from 4, the
last sentence starting with "If the gravity....................".

(52)    On page 54-124, the method shown in this example may be
followed but it is emphasized that the gas supply used in this County
has a pressure drop of 0.3 inch water column so table "2" would be used
in lieu of table 3. Also part (4) should be omitted since a gravity factor
is not to be applied.
