2572                                Municipal Charters

(d)    If, in the course of work, it is found necessary to make any
change from the plans and specifications on which a permit has been
issued, amended plans and specifications shall be submitted and a supple-
mentary permit shall be issued to cover said change after the same condi-
tions required to secure the original permit have been satisfied. Plans
and specifications where required shall be no less detailed than line
drawings which show:

(1)    The direction of flow,

(2)    Pipe sizes,

(3)    Locations and type of fittings, fixtures and equipment, and

(4)    Length of lines and differences in elevations.

(e)    A permit shall expire six (6) months after its issuance unless
extended in writing by the Director. If any work started under a permit
is subsequently discontinued, the permit shall expire six months after the
last work was done unless extended in writing by the Director.

(f)   No licensee shall apply for a permit or commence work on another
licensee's work unless the original licensee has withdrawn or has been
removed from said work and notified the Department in writing. The
letter of explanation from the person for whom the work is to be per-
formed or either or both licensees shall be sent to the Director explaining
the circumstances of the case. In the event that the original licensee
cannot be notified or does not respond within ten (10) days, the Director,
upon advice of the Gas Commission, may authorize another licensee to
apply for a permit to complete the work in question.

(g)    If the gasfitter who signs an application for a permit dies, the
permit will be held in abeyance from the date of such death. The extent
of the work satisfactorily completed by the deceased will be recorded on
the gas inspector's record and on the permit, which will then be held in
abeyance. If the owner decides to have the remainder of the work done,
the original permit will be reactivated upon his written request, to the
extent of the uncompleted work. The gasfitter who is to complete the
work shall sign the original plumbing application on file at the Department
of Inspections and Permits and he will be held responsible for his work.
