2350                               Municipal Charters

There is hereby annexed to the territory of the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of New Carrollton, a municipal corporation, all of the land adjacent to
the present City of New Carrollton in Prince George's County, Maryland,
described as follows:

Being Parcel No. 1 of the land described in the deed from Frances
Mahoney, widow, to Loretta Palmer and Louise Burton, as Tenants in
Common, dated November 17, 1959 and recorded among the Land Records
of Prince George's County, Maryland in Liber 2403 at Folio 20. Loretta
Palmer died intestate December 26, 1961, leaving a daughter, Virginia P.
Mather, as her sole heir at law and next of kin. Loretta Palmer's interest
in the above property was transferred on the Assessment Rolls to Virginia
P. Mather August 30, 1963.

Beginning at a point on the southwesterly line of Riverdale Road,
60 feet wide, at the beginning point of said Parcel No. 1, said point being
also the end of the 5th or South 37° 22' 15" East 710.90 foot line of the
previous annexation to the City of New Carrollton, effective July 26, 1963;
thence running along said line of said Road and along the 1st line of said
Parcel No. 1 in the aforesaid deed,

1)    South 37° 22' 15" East 385.17 feet to a point; thence running
along the 2nd line of Parcel No. 1 in the aforesaid deed,

2)    South 08° 26' 50" west 97.57 feet to a point in the northwesterly
line of Defense Highway; thence running along said line of said Highway,
being also along the 3rd and 4th lines of Parcel No. 1 in the aforesaid
deed, the following two courses and distances,

3)    South 54° 16' 00" West 505.46 feet to a point; and thence

4)    50.67 feet along the arc of a curve deflecting to the right having a
radius of 8574.37 feet and a chord bearing and distance of South 54° 26'
10" West 50.67 feet to a point; thence leaving said Highway and running
along the 5th and 6th lines of Parcel No. 1 in the aforesaid deed, said 5th
and 6th lines being also the 8th and 7th lines reversed of the aforesaid
previous annexation,

5)    79.07 feet along the arc of a curve deflecting to the right having
a radius of 50.00 feet and a chord bearing and distance of North 80° 05'
38" West 71.08 feet to a point; and thence

6)    441.57 feet along the arc of a curve deflecting to the left having
a radius of 590.00 feet and a chord bearing and distance of North 56° 14'
03" West 431.33 feet to a point at the end of the 6th or South 54° 16' 00"
West 813.90 foot line of the aforesaid previous annexation to the City of
New Carrollton, effective July 26, 1963; thence running, reversely, along
said 6th line, being also along the 7th line of Parcel No. 1 in the aforesaid
deed,

7)    North 54° 16' 00" East 813.90 feet to the point of beginning;
containing 320,228 square feet or 7.3514 acres.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED,
That except as hereinafter otherwise provided, all the provisions of the
Constitution of Maryland, all laws of the State of Maryland applicable to
the City of New Carrollton which now are in force or may hereafter be
enacted, and all the existing ordinances of the City of New Carrollton,
shall be and the same are hereby extended and made applicable to such
portion of Prince George's County as is, under the provisions of this reso-
