Glenarden 2331
Whereas, elections for town officials are held in every odd numbered
year, and it is desirous that there also be required registration in every odd
numbered year so that all eligible citizens might participate in all town
elections,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED this 13th
day of January, 1969, by the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Glenarden, Maryland, that the Charter of the Town of Glenarden, Mary-
land, dated........................1967, be amended as follows:
The word "second" is deleted from the first sentence in Section 25
(Registration), so that the section as amended will read as follows:
REGISTRATION, NOMINATIONS, and ELECTIONS
25. (Registration)
There shall be a registration on the first Monday in April in every
[second] odd numbered year, of qualified persons not registered to vote.
If necessary for the performance of registration or the convenience of the
citizens of the Town, the mayor may designate additional days as regis-
tration days. Registration shall be permanent, and no person shall be
entitled to vote in Town elections unless he is registered. It shall be the
duty of the Board of Supervisors of Elections to keep the registration lists
up to date by striking from the lists persons known to have died or to have
moved out of the Town. The council is hereby authorized and directed, by
ordinance, to adopt and enforce any provisions necessary to establish and
maintain a system of permanent registration, and to provide for a re-
registration when necessary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED THAT the public
notice of this amendment shall be published at weekly intervals of four
consecutive weeks in the Enquirer Gazette beginning the 16th of January,
1969; and that public notice of the entire resolution shall be posted in the
Town Hall for a period of forty (40) days from the 14th of January, 1969.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED that this amend-
ment shall take effect fifty (50) days after the 14th day of January, 1969.

Charter Amendment No. 2-69
Resolution and Ordinance to amend Glenarden Town Charter to
provide for municipal checks to be co-signed by two persons.
Whereas, Section 47 of the Article of the Glenarden Town Charter
entitled Finance, now provides:
47. (Checks.)
All checks issued in payment of salaries or other municipal obligations
shall be issued and signed by the treasurer and shall be countersigned by
the Mayor, and
Whereas, it is desirous that said checks be countersigned by a person
in addition to the Mayor,
