Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED by The Commissioners of Cambridge
that the Charter of said Municipal Corporation be, and the same is hereby
amended by adding new Section 34A "Absentee Voting" to read as follows:

34A. "ABSENTEE VOTING"

Any qualified voter whose physical disability confines him to a hos-
pital or to his home and prevents him from being present and personally
voting at the polls on any municipal election day, shall also be entitled to
vote as an absentee voter. Such voter shall make application for an absen-
tee ballot as prescribed by the Supervisor of Elections and in addition,
shall obtain a certificate from a duly licensed physician of this State. The
certificate shall state that the voter is mentally competent to vote in
municipal elections, and that because of the illness or injury which con-
fines him to a hospital or to his home the voter is now, or will be, prevented
from voting personally at the election. The certificate shall be received
and filed, together with the application, in the office of the Supervisor of
Elections not later than 10 days prior to the election. Thereafter, the
Supervisor of Elections shall mail to the voter entitled thereto an absentee
ballot. All forms used for absentee voting shall be as prescribed by the
Supervisor of Elections and shall be substantially as those in Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957) but the Supervisor of Elections
determination shall be final as to form. The Supervisor of Elections may
also prescribe the determination of the absentee voter's application and
the procedure for canvassing of ballots.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall
become effective September 16, 1969.

Charter Amendment No. 34

Resolution of The Commissioners of Cambridge adopted pursuant
to the authority of Article 11E of the Constitution of Maryland and
Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition, as amended), title "Corporation—Municipal", to amend the
Charter of The Commissioners of Cambridge by adding a new sub-
section (i) Absentee Registration of Section 32 "Registration for elec-
tions" to the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County (1961
Edition), said code being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland title "Dorchester County" subtitle "Cambridge", adding
new subsection (i) to Section 32 providing for absentee registration
for Municipal Elections.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED by The Commissioners of Cambridge
that the Charter of said Municipal Corporation be, and the same is hereby
amended by adding new subsection (i) Absentee Registration to read as
