12-12, 12-19, and 12-26, 1968, and a complete copy was posted in public
view in the Town Municipal Hall for no less than forty (40) days and
during such period of time no petition for referendum on the Charter
Amendment was received by the Mayor and Council, and no objection
was offered at the public meeting held on February 3, 1969, Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED AND MOTIONED, That Resolution No. 2-68,
Charter Amendment, dated 12-2-68, proposing an amendment to the Town
Charter, Original Chapter 341, Public Laws of 1947, as amended, the same
being amended and codified as Sections 3.01 thru to 3.61, inclusive, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County, Md., 1963-Edition
by Everstine, that the Charter Amendment Resolution No. 2-68 shall in
all respects become effective and be observed as such upon the fiftieth
(50th) day, from this date, the effective date being March 26, 1969.
Adopted and affirmed this 3rd day of February, 1969, at the public
meeting of the Mayor and Council, Town of Bladensburg, Md.

CHARTER AMENDMENT: LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
A Resolution to amend the Charter of the Town of Bladensburg,
Md., by repealing and to re-enact with amendments, Section 57A,
Chapter 341, Laws of Maryland, 1947, as amended, the same being
Section 3-56, Bladensburg, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County, Maryland, 1963-Edition by Everstine, being Article
17 of the Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County, Subtitle
"Bladensburg,"
Whereas, Pursuant to Article 11E of the Constitution of Maryland
and pursuant to Chapter 423 of the Laws of 1955, being Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957-Edition, as amended, the Mayor and
Council being the legislative body of said municipal corporation, have
adopted and enacted certain amendments to the Charter of the Town of
Bladensburg, all being accomplished in accordance with the requirements
and procedures in said Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
Whereas, The Mayor and Council of Bladensburg proposes by action
of this Charter Amendment to modify by repealing and amending Chapter
3-56 sub (f) title, LEVY AND COLLECTION OF SPECIAL ASSESS-
MENTS benefited by new street improvement and construction whereby
using the formula, for assessment purposes, the number of feet of street
improvement where two or more sides of a parcel of land in a residential
zone abutting the improved street or sidewalk is considered by the Mayor
and Council to need revision to provide a more equitable basis of paying
the costs of the improvement.
