specify the date, time and places for the referendum concerning the
question on the Charter Amendment.
The referendum will be held within a period of not less than forty
(40) days nor more than sixty (60) days after the passage of the resolution
providing for the referendum. Should a petition for referendum not be
received by the Mayor and Council within the specified time forty (40)
days, the proposed Charter Amendment shall in all respects become effec-
tive and be observed as such upon the sixth (6th) day of January, 1969,
providing this Charter Amendment Resolution is adopted and enacted.
Read and adopted for the 1st reading on October 7, 1968, at the
public meeting of the Mayor and Council.
Ordered to be published no fewer than four (4) times in the Prince
George's Post Newspaper on November 7-14-21-and 28th, 1968.
Next Public Meeting on this Resolution is to be held on January
6th, 1969.

AFFIRMING THE FINAL ADOPTION OF CHARTER AMENDMENT
RESOLUTION No. 2-68, TITLE, LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
Whereas, The Mayor and Council on December 2, 1968, held a public
meeting on the proposed Resolution No. 2-68, Charter Amendment, title,
"LEVY AND COLLECTION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS," reference
changes in Chapter 3, Section 56-F, pertaining to assessment of corner
properties in new street construction, the same being codified as Section
3-56, title, PUBLICWAYS AND PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County, Md., 1963-Edition by
Everstine. The resolution was voted unanimously for the adoption and
to proceed with all the requirements and provisions to Chapter 423 of the
Laws of Maryland 1955, the same being Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, 1957, Supplement as amended, and,
Whereas, A Fair summary of the proposed Charter Amendment, Reso-
lution No. 2-68, was published in a local newspaper of general circulation
within the Town no less than four (4) times at weekly intervals, 12-5,
