CHAPTER 723
(House Bill 1001)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 219(f)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Supple-
ment), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Game and Freshwater
Fish," subheading "Regulations for Taking in Nontidal Waters,"
to define the term "resident" for the purpose of obtaining an
angler's license in Garrett County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 219(f) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1969 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Game
and Freshwater Fish," subheading "Regulations for Taking in Non-
tidal Waters," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

219.

(f) For the purpose of this subheading, a resident shall be a
person who has resided in this State six (6) months immediately
preceding the date of application; but, in Garret County, any person
owning property located in the county having an assessed valuation
of $500.00 or more, and also any member of his immediate family
shall be treated as a resident of Garrett County for the purposes of
procuring a license to fish in Deep Creek Lake only and in no other
waters.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 724
(House Bill 1361)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 239
and 241 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume), title "Licenses," subtitle "Trading Stamp
Companies," to provide definitions of "retail distributor of trad-
ing stamps" and "cost factor"; to strike out the requirement that
trading stamps have their cash value printed on their face; to
provided that the cash redemption value be computed by the greater
of the
BE AT LEAST EQUAL TO THE HIGHEST CASH RE-
DEMPTION value offered in any other jurisdiction, or the mer-
chandise value stated by the company
; to provide for certain notices
to be carried in stamp collection books stamp redemption catalogs
and
, stamp redemption places, AND POSTED BY RETAILERS
ISSUING STAMPS; and to provide that retail distributors of

trading stamps offer an option of the trading stamps or a cash

discount equivalent to the cost factor.
