Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 317B of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, (1969 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation
of Vehicles Upon Highways," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

317B.

In Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Cecil, Frederick, Howard,
Prince George's, Talbot and Washington Counties any person operat-
ing a motor vehicle on private property which is used by the public
in general in violation of the provisions of this subtitle shall be
deemed in violation of the law to the same extent as if the motor
vehicle were being operated on a public highway and the violation
carries the same penalty.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 722
(House Bill 1481)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(19)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magis-
trates System," increasing the salaries of the trial magistrates in
Somerset County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(19) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," sub-
title "Trial Magistrates System," be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

108.

(19) There shall be two trial magistrates one of whom shall sit
at Crisfield and the other at Princess Anne, and each of said magis-
trates shall receive an annual salary of [three thousand dollars
($3,000)] four thousand two hundred dollars ($4,200). The magis-
trate sitting at Princess Anne shall sit from 9 a.m. to 12 o'clock noon,
Monday to Friday, inclusive, and the magistrate sitting at Crisfield
shall sit from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, inclusive.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of any trial
magistrate in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provi-
sions of this Act concerning the salary of any trial magistrate shall
take effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
