GRAPHICAL AREAS OF THE COUNTY SO AS TO BEST
SERVE THE NEEDS OF ALL THE COUNTY. THEY SHALL
HAVE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY ALL THE POWERS AND
JURISDICTION VESTED BY LAW IN JUSTICES OF THE
PEACE OTHER THAN TRIAL MAGISTRATES AND SUBSTI-
TUTE TRIAL MAGISTRATES.
(B) THE COMMITTING MAGISTRATES SHALL DEVOTE
THEIR FULL TIME TO THE DUTIES OF THE OFFICE AND
SHALL EACH RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF NOT LESS
THAN [SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00)] NINE THOU-
SAND DOLLARS ($0,000.00) EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS
($8,000.00). THE CHIEF COMMITTING MAGISTRATE SHALL
RECEIVE A SALARY OF NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($9,200.00) EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($8,500.00). THE DEPUTY COMMITTING MAGIS-
TRATES SHALL EACH RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF
FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00).
(10) (a) There shall be a chief clerk of the People's Court who
shall be appointed by the chief judge, receive an annual salary of
[ten] twelve thousand dollars [($10,000.00)] ($12,000.00), and
give bond with corporate surety, conditioned upon the proper per-
formance of his duties, in such amount as the chief judge shall
prescribe, the premium of which shall be paid by the county
commissioners.
(11) (a) In addition to the chief clerk, there shall be a deputy
chief clerk, who shall receive [a minimum] an annual salary of
not more than [seven] eight thousand five hundred dollars
[($7,500.00)] ($8,500.00) and [five (5)] six (6) constables who
shall receive minimum annual salaries of [(thirty five hundred)]
five thousand one hundred dollars [($3,500.00)] ($5,100.00)
THIRTY-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,500.00). The clerical
personnel of the court shall be designated by the following
titles: criminal clerk, assistant criminal clerk, civil clerk, assistant
civil clerk, traffic clerk, assistant traffic clerk, cashier, and judicial
secretary. There shall be such additional employees as the chief
judge may from time to time deem necessary who shall receive such
salaries as are provided in the annual county budget. The chief
clerk with the approval of the chief judge, shall make the appoint-
ments to all such positions and shall supervise and direct the work
thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
