(c) The county treasurer of Calvert County shall receive an
annual salary of [$6,000.00] $8,000.00 and an allowance for clerical
help incidental to his office of $3,000.00 per year during the term of
office, said allowance for clerical help to be paid out in monthly
SEMI-MONTHLY installments. He shall appoint one deputy treas-
urer, who shall receive an annual salary of [$4,500.00] $5,000.00;
and he shall appoint one clerk-stenographer, who shall receive such
annual compensation as may be set by the County Commissioners
from time to time.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer of Calvert County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning
the salary of the same shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 603
(House Bill 704)
AN ACT to authorize the issuance of bonds of the Washington
Suburban Sanitary District in an amount not exceeding $25,000,000
for enlarging, increasing and augmenting the water supply and
major distribution facilities of said District; to provide that said
bonds shall be guaranteed as to payment of principal and interest
by the County Council of Montgomery County and the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County, with a provision for
waiver of such guarantee at the option of the Commission; to
provide for the payment of said bonds and the interest thereon
by levy against assessable property within the Sanitary District;
and to provide for the ratification and confirmation of any guar-
antee made by the County Council of Montgomery County and the
County Commissioners of Prince George's County of any water
supply bonds of the Washington Suburban Sanitary District here-
tofore issued.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, created by
Chapter 122, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1918, be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to issue bonds
of said Sanitary District in an aggregate principal amount not ex-
ceeding Twenty Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000), which bonds
shall be in addition to any bonds authorized to be issued under
said Chapter 122, or any amendments thereof, or under any other
Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, and shall be registered
or coupon bonds, in such denomination or denominations as shall
be determined by the Commission, and shall bear interest at a rate
or rates not exceeding eight per centum (8%) per annum, payable
