between each two vehicles or combination of vehicles, so as to en-
able any other vehicle to enter and occupy the space without danger.
This subsection shall not apply to funeral processions.

§ 11-311. Driving on divided highways.

Whenever any highway has been divided into two or more road-
ways by leaving an intervening space, by a physical barrier, or by
clearly indicated dividing section so constructed as to impede ve-
hicular traffic, every vehicle shall be driven only upon the right-hand
roadway unless directed or permitted to use another roadway by
official traffic-control devices or police officers. No vehicle shall be
driven over, across, or within any such dividing space, barrier, or
section, except through an opening in such physical barrier or divid-
ing section or space or at a cross-over or intersection as established
and not then if specifically prohibited by public authority.

§ 11-312. Restricted access.

No person shall drive a vehicle onto or from any controlled-
access highway except at the entrances and exits established by
public authority.

§ 11-313. Restrictions on use of controlled-access highway.

(a)    The State Roads Commission by resolution or order entered
in its minutes, and local authorities by ordinance, with respect to
any controlled-access highway under their respective jurisdictions,
may prohibit the use of any such highway by parades, funeral pro-
cessions, bicycles, or other nonmotorized traffic, or by any person
operating a motorcycle.

(b)    The State Roads Commission or the local authority adopt-
ing any such prohibitory regulation shall erect and maintain official
signs on the controlled-access highway on which the regulations are
applicable, and when so erected no person shall disobey the restric-
tions stated on the signs.

Part IV—Right of Way
§ 11-401. Vehicle approaching or entering intersection.

Except as hereinafter provided, all vehicles shall have the right
of way over other vehicles approaching at intersecting highways
from the left, and shall give right of way to those approaching from
the right, except at through highways, for which separate provision
is made in this article.

§ 11-402. Vehicle turning left or making u-turn.

(a)    The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within
an intersection or into an alley, private road, or driveway shall
yield the right of way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite
direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to
constitute an immediate hazard.

(b)  Every vehicle turning to proceed in the opposite direction
shall yield the right of way to any approaching vehicle which is so
close as to constitute an immediate hazard.
