person at the Department of Motor Vehicles in any of the places
throughout the State which the Department may designate for the
convenience of applicants.

The applicant shall furnish a motor vehicle for the required driv-
ing test, which vehicle shall be a type appropriate to test the appli-
cant's ability to drive all vehicles which may be driven under the
class of license applied for. At the time he appears for the driving
test the applicant shall be accompanied by a person qualified under
the provisions of Section 6-105 to accompany a person with an in-
struction and examination license while driving upon public high-
ways. The person accompanying the applicant shall have in his
possession a valid driver's license.

If the applicant does not pass the examination for a higher class
of license, the department may issue to him any lower class of license
for which he qualifies.

(b)    The holder of an operator's, chauffeur's or special chauffeur's
license, issued prior to January 1, 1971, may convert and renew such
license to a Class D license any time within sixty days of expiration
of same.

(c)    The holder of an operator's, chauffeur's or special chauffeur's
license issued prior to January 1, 1971, may convert and renew such
license to either a Class A, Class B or Class C license within sixty
days of expiration of same upon:

1.    Taking the required tests for the class of license desired, or,

2.    Submitting on such form as the Department shall prescribe,
an affidavit of adequate evidence of experience, in driving vehicles
for the class of license for which he has applied, under such rules and
regulations as the Department may deem necessary.

(d)    Conversion of Motorcycle License to Class E License.

The holder of a motorcycle license issued prior to January 1, 1971,
may convert and renew such license to a Class E License within sixty
days of expiration of same.

(e)    If the holder of a motorcycle operator's license in addition
holds either an operator's or chauffeur's or special chauffeur's
license and converts and renews either of these to a Class A, Class B,
Class C or Class D License, the license issued would in addition be
identified as a Class E License.

§ 6-110.1. Vision requirements.

(a)    For an unrestricted license, the applicant shall be required
to have a minimum visual acuity of 20/40 in each eye, a field of vision
at least 140 degrees, and binocular vision.

(b)    Failure to meet the above requirements shall cause the li-
cense to be withheld until applicant ascertains whether any of these
conditions can be corrected by glasses, contact lenses, or treatment.

(c)    If they are corrected by glasses or contact lenses, a restricted
license may be issued, endorsed "holder shall wear eye glasses or con-
tact lenses when operating."
