§ 1-175. Right of way.

Right of way means the right of one vehicle or pedestrian to
proceed in a lawful manner on a highway in preference to another
vehicle or pedestrian.

§ 1-176. Road tractor.

Road tractor means every motor vehicle designed and used for
drawing other vehicles and not so constructed as to carry any load
thereon either independently or any part of the weight of a vehicle
or load so drawn.

§ 1-177. Roadway.

Roadway means that portion of a highway improved, designed or
ordinarily used for vehicular travel, exclusive of the berm or
shoulder. If a highway includes two or more separate roadways
the term "roadway" as used herein refers to any such roadway
separately but not to all such roadways collectively.

§ 1-178. Safety glass.

Safety glass means any product composed of glass, so manu-
factured, fabricated, or treated as substantially to prevent shatter-
ing and flying of the glass when struck or broken or such other or
similar product as may be approved by the department.

§ 1-179. Safety zone.

Safety zone means the area or space officially set apart within a
roadway for the exclusive use of pedestrians and which is protected
or is so marked or indicated by adequate signs as to be plainly
visible at all times while set apart as a safety zone.

§ 1-180. Salvage value.

Salvage value means and is restricted to those vehicles which do
not have a marketable value other than the value of the basic
materials used in the construction of such vehicles.

§ 1-181. School bus.

School bus means every motor vehicle having a seating capacity of
ten (10) or more persons which is registered as a school bus
by the department, which complies with the color and identification
requirements prescribed by the commissioner and is used to trans-
port children, students or teachers to or from school or in connection
with school activities, but not including buses operated by common
carriers in urban transportation of school children or operating
under the jurisdiction of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Commission.

§ 1-182. Security agreement.

Security agreement means a written agreement which reserves or
creates a security interest.
