shall be four years. It shall be the duty of the [Director] Secretary
to refer all major and important architectural problems and plans
concerning the construction, reconstruction and repair of State
buildings to the Board of Architectural Review, and it shall also be
the duty of the said [Director] Secretary and staff to consult the
members of said Board in connection with the State building pro-
gram. The members of said Board shall serve without compensation
but shall be reimbursed for any traveling or other expenses in the
performance of their duties under this section.
25.
The [Director] Secretary of General Services shall, on or before
the first day of February of each year, file with the Governor a report
on the activities of the Department of [Public Improvements]
General Services during the preceding calendar year.
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That Sections 133, 134, 135,
136, 137, and 138 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition, 1965 Replacement Volume and 1969 Supplement)
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments," sub-
titles "The Executive Department," "Superintendent of Buildings,"
TITLE "THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT," SUBHEADING
"SUPERINTENDENT OF BUILDINGS," be and the same are here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to read as follows:
133.
(a) The Office of Annapolis Public Buildings and Grounds is
established and continued as the same office of the Superintendent
of Public Buildings and Grounds hitherto existing. The Office of
Annapolis Public Buildings and Grounds shall be part of the De-
partment of General Services. The Office of Annapolis Public Build-
ings and Grounds shall have, subject to the authority of the Secretary
of General Services, the powers, duties, responsibilities and functions
provided in the laws of this State for the Office of the Superintendent
of Public Buildings and Grounds. All references in this Code, in
any other laws of this State, or in ordinances, resolutions, rules,
regulations, legal actions, directives or documents to the Office of
Public Buildings and Grounds or the Department of Public Buildings
and Grounds or the Office of Superintendent of Public Buildings and
Grounds, shall be deemed to mean the Office of Annapolis Public
Buildings and Grounds.
(b). The Superintendent of Public Buildings and Grounds, ap-
pointed as at present, shall be [assigned to the Executive Depart-
ment] known as the Superintendent of Annapolis Public Buildings
and Grounds and shall, subject to the direction of the Secretary of
General Services, be in charge of the Office of Annapolis Public
Buildings and Grounds. He shall have and exercise the rights,
powers, duties, obligations and functions now or hereafter conferred
by law or the Secretary of General Services.
134.
The [Governor shall appoint a] Superintendent of Annapolis
Public Buildings and Grounds shall be appointed ALWAYS BE AP-
POINTED AND REMOVED in accordance with Article 64A of the
