proaches of any airport located, in whole or in part, within the
limits of Anne Arundel County is hereby delegated to the said Air-
port Zoning Board; provided, however, that all said power and
authority hereby delegated to the said Airport Zoning Board and
all other boards, commissions or other agencies mentioned in this
subtitle shall be exercised by them only in connection with airports
located, in whole or in part, in Anne Arundel County and owned
by the State of Maryland, and shall include the Friendship Inter-
national Airport Authority and any land falling within the terri-
torial jurisdiction of such Authority. The said Airport Zoning Board,
in exercising any or all of the power and authority hereby delegated
to it, shall at all times and in all respects comply with all of the
terms, conditions and provisions contained in the aforementioned
article and in this subtitle.

(e) Same; applications. No airport zoning district or airport zon-
ing regulation or restriction shall apply to any property located
more than three (3) miles beyond the outer perimeter of any
particular airport and no airport zoning district or airport zoning
regulation or restriction shall apply to any property until and after
the Maryland Airport Authority or Friendship International Air-
port Authority has acquired the property for the particular airport
and the lay-out of such airport has been determined.

(n) (1) "Airport" means any area of land or water, or both,
designed or set aside for the landing and taking off of aircraft
located, in whole or in part, in Anne Arundel County and owned
by the Maryland Airport Authority and the land and improvements
comprising Friendship International Airport.

(x) All references in this Code, other laws, ordinances, resolu-
tions, rules, regulations, or other documents, to the Maryland Air-
port Authority shall be deemed to mean the Friendship International
Airport Authority.

22.    Joint Activities with Maryland Port Authority.

Commencing upon the organization of the Authority, the Au-
thority and the Maryland Port Authority shall meet in joint session
at least once in [each two] every six successive months, to institute
joint use of materials, offices outside the State of Maryland, studies,
promotions, programs, operations and other activities where such
joint activities will create economies and effectuate the other pur-
poses of this Act and Article 62B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land. The Director of the State Planning Department shall call and
chair such joint sessions.

23.    Penalty.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions of this
article, or of any rule or regulation lawfully promulgated and
adopted by the Authority is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less than fifty
dollars ($50) and not more than five hundred dollars ($500), or
to the imprisonment for a period of not more than one year, or
to both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.
