(House Bill 1035)

AN ACT to add new Section 146A to Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Edu-
cation," subtitle "Non-public Schools," to follow immediately after
Section 146 thereof, providing that the Washington County Board
of Education shall provide school bus transportation for students
attending non-public schools in the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 146A be and it is hereby added to Article 77 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Non-public Schools," to follow imme-
diately after Section 146 thereof, and to read as follows:

146A.

The Washington County Board of Education shall provide school
bus transportation for students attending Washington County non-
public schools, as defined in this subtitle, if the Board deems the pro-
viding of such transportation to be feasible and in the public interest.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 500

(House Bill 1044)

AN ACT to change the subtitle "Assault on Child" in Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement volume and
1969 Supplement), this subtitle henceforth to be "Child Abuse";
and to recodify Section 11A which comprises this subtitle, the new
section number thereof to be 35A and to follow immediately after
Section 35 of said Article 27, changing the name of the subtitle
"Assault on Child" in the present criminal laws of the State and
recodifying the section in this subtitle in order to preserve its
position in the alphabetical list of subtitles.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the subtitle "Assault on Child" in Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1969 Supplement),
this subtitle henceforth to be "Child Abuse"; be and it is hereby
changed; and that Section 11A which comprises this subtitle, the new
section number thereof to be 35A and to follow immediately after
Section 35 of said Article 27, be and it is hereby recodified.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1970.
