MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE

Senate of Maryland               

Annapolis, Md., December 16, 1969

By Senator H. R. Hughes:                                                   

Ladies and Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:             

We have received your Message notifying the Senate of the organ-
ization of your Honorable Body, and proposing a joint committee of five
members, three on the part of the House and two on the part of the Senate,
to wait upon the Governor and inform him that the General Assembly is
now prepared to receive any communications which he may desire to make.

We concur in your proposal for the appointment of a joint committee
of five members, and have appointed on the part of the, Senate, Senators
Clark and Welcome.                                                       

We also desire to inform you that the Senate is organized, the Honor-
able William S. James having been elected President, and according, to
the Rules of the Senate, Mr. Oden Bowie, Secretary.
