CHAPTER 14
(House Bill 9)

AN ACT relating to the Washington Suburban Sanitary District,
repealing and re-enacting, with amendments, Section 83-66A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963
Edition), being also Section 71-12A of the Montgomery County
Code (1965 Edition), being Articles 17 and 16, respectively, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titled "Prince George's
County" and "Montgomery County," both subtitled "Washington
Suburban Sanitary District," as said sections were last repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, by Chapter 651 of the Acts of
1969, relating to the maximum rate of interest which may be
paid on any bond, note, certificate of indebtedness or other evi-
dence of indebtedness to be issued by the Washington Suburban
Sanitary District.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 83-66A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition), being also Section 71-12A of the
Montgomery County Code (1965 Edition), and being Articles 17
and 16, respectively, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
titled "Prince George's County" and "Montgomery County," sub-
titled "Washington Suburban Sanitary District," as said sections were
last repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, by Chapter 651 of
the Acts of 1969, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

83-66A. (71-12A).

Any bonds, notes, certificates of indebtedness or other instruments
evidencing debt of the Washington Suburban Sanitary District,
issued under the provisions of this subtitle or of any other law after
July 1, 1968, shall bear interest at a rate not in excess of [six]
eight per centum [(6%)] (8%) per annum, notwithstanding any
other provisions to the contrary.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 15
(House Bill 10)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 of
Chapter 733 of the Laws of 1968 to increase the maximum interest
rate on bonds issued under the Kent County school bonds issue
authorized by this Chapter.
