1969 (House Bill 204) is enacted four ninths of the proceeds shall
be placed in the General Fund of the State of Maryland]. Out of the
remaining proceeds of the taxes collected under this subtitle, at the
rate of four and one-half percentum (41/2%), and out of the proceeds
of the taxes collected under this subtitle at the rate of one-half of
one percentum (1/2%), the [The] Comptroller shall then deduct the
amount expended by the admission tax division to defray the cost
of administration and collection of the admission and amusement
tax collected under this subtitle. The balance of the proceeds derived
under §402, then remaining, shall be distributed in accordance with
the provisions of §410 (b) hereunder.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect at 2:00 o'clock A.M. on January 15, 1970 6:00
O'CLOCK A.M. ON JANUARY 1, 1970.

CHAPTER 6
(House Bill 2)
AN ACT making an emergency appropriation for the payment of
the expenses of the General Assembly of Maryland for the Second
Extraordinary Session of 1969.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated
as an emergency appropriation from any funds in the General Sur-
plus Fund Account of the Treasury of the State for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 1970, for the payment of the officers and employees
of the General Assembly of Maryland of the Second Extraordinary
Session of 1969 and for the expense of said Session, including mileage
and expenses of the members, printing, binding, and miscellaneous
expenses.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer of the State
shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said sum
of money herein appropriated for the objects and purposes herein
specified, to or upon the order of the person or persons entitled to
receive the same.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted,, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immedi-
ate preservation of the public health and safety, and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly
of Maryland, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
