Hughes: Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We have received your Message notifying the Senate of the organization of your Honorable Body, and proposing a joint committee of five members, three on the part of the House and two on the part of the Senate, to wait upon the Governor and inform him that the General Assembly is now prepared to receive any communications which he may desire to make. We concur in your proposal for the appointment of a joint committee of five members, and have appointed on the part of the Senate, Senators Clark and Hall. We also desire to inform you that the Senate is organized, the Honorable Sen. William James having been elected President. By order, J. Waters Parrish, Secretary. Read and journalized.
