pendents' allowances shall be in addition to the unemployment
benefits otherwise payable, provided that the total of such unem-
ployment benefits and allowances for dependents shall not exceed
[$56] $58 $60 in any one benefit week and further provided that no
dependency allowance shall be payable with respect to any week
unless an unemployment benefit is also payable with respect to such
week. An individual's number of dependents shall be determined as
of the day with respect to which he first files a valid claim for
benefits in any benefit year, and shall be fixed for the duration of such
benefit year. No person who has been determined to be a child of one
individual on the beginning date of such individual's benefit year
shall be deemed to be a child of any other individual whose benefit
year starts within one year thereafter. Provided, it shall be
presumed that the father or stepfather is wholly or mainly sup-
porting his children, stepchildren, or adopted children, who are a
part of the household maintained by him, unless the contrary is
shown to the satisfaction of the Executive Director. Dependents'
allowances shall be regarded as benefits for the purpose of computing
contribution rates under the terms of Section 8(c) of this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 362
(House Bill 857)

AN ACT to repeal Section 302 Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries," subheading "Part 2.
Tidal Waters," and to enact new Section 302 in lieu thereof, to
stand in the place of the section repealed, to provide a new
schedule of fees for commercial fish net licenses, and to provide
for disposition of fees.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 302 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Fish and Fisheries," subheading "Part 2. Tidal Waters," be and it
is hereby repealed and new Section 302 is enacted in lieu thereof,
to read as follows:

302.

The following fees shall be charged for issuance of licenses to
take or catch fish for commercial purposes:

(a)    Fyke or hoop net (more than 40 yards in length).—$5.00 $3.00
for each net.

(b)    Gill net.$15.00 $12.00 for each 500 yards or fraction thereof.

(c)    Pound net.$15.00 $10.00 for each net.
