candidate is elected or defeated, work in his place or establishment,
will cease, in whole or in part, his establishment be closed up or the
wages of his employees reduced, or other threats, express or implied,
intended or calculated to influence the political opinions or actions
of his employees.

(7)    Campaign Literature. Every person who publishes or dis-
tributes or causes to be published or distributed any pamphlet, cir-
cular, card, dodger, poster, advertisement or any printed, multi-
graphed, photographed, typewritten or written matter or statement
or any matter or statement which may be copied by any device or
method now known for printing or copying or which may hereafter
be used for making copies of printed or written matter in any form
whatever for publication or distribution, relating to or concerning
any candidate or prospective candidate for public or party office
or for the acceptance or defeat or any proposition unless such
pamphlet, circular, card, dodger, poster, advertisement or other
form of publication herein described contains the name and address
of the authority responsible for the publication or distribution of
the same.

(8)     Contribution or Expenditure in Violation of Section 26-8.
Every person who, being a candidate, makes any payment, contri-
bution, expenditure or promotes or incurs any liability to pay, con-
tribute or expend from his own personal financial resources any
money or thing in value in excess of that authorized by Section
26-8(c).

The board shall designate an officer or employee, who in addition
to his other duties, if any, shall act and be known as the "registrar
["] of new resident voters," and who may have one or more
authorized deputies. As used in this subtitle, the term "registrar"
refers to said registrar of new resident voters or his authorized
deputy. The registrar shall be available during regular office hours
at the office of the board or other appropriate place, during the
period of twenty-five days preceding any general presidential elec-
tion and on election day.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 282
(House Bill 310)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 123 (e),
251A(j), and 534H(j) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title
"Crimes and Punishments," subtitles "Drunkenness and Dis-
orderly Conduct," "Gaming," and "Sabbath Breaking," respec-
tively, amending the criminal laws of this State in order to make
certain corrections in the wording and references therein.
