TEND BEYOND THE THIRD DATE SUBSEQUENT TO THE
DECEASE OF THE LICENSE HOLDER BY WHICH LI-
CENSES MUST BE REGULARLY AND ANNUALLY RE-
NEWED. TO INCREASE THE PERIOD OF TIME THE EX-
ECUTORS OR ADMINISTRATORS OF A DECEASED ALCO-
HOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSEE MAY BE ALLOWED TO
CONTINUE THE BUSINESS.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 78(a) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Rights and Duties of Licensees," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
78.
(a) Upon the death of the holder of any license issued under
the provisions of this article other than Class E, Class F and Class G
licenses, the license shall expire, except as herein otherwise provided,
provided, however, that upon application to the Comptroller, or the
clerk of the court issuing such license, as the case may be, and upon
the payment of a fee of one dollar ($1.00), made by the executors or
administrators of the deceased licensee, a certificate of permission
may be granted for the continuation of the business in the name of
such executors or administrators for the benefit of the estate. of the
deceased for a period not [exceeding eight months from the date of
any such permission, unless the license shall sooner expire, in which
case upon application by the executor or administrator as above pro-
vided a renewal license for a period not exceeding eight months after
the death of the license holder] extending beyond the final adminis-
tration of the estate of the deceased holder of the alcoholic beverages
license may be issued subject to the right of protest, revocation,

SUBSEQUENT TO THE DECEASE OF THE LICENSE HOLDER
BY WHICH LICENSES MUST BE REGULARLY AND ANNU-
ALLY RENEWED. HOWEVER, UPON A SHOWING OF GOOD
CAUSE BY THE EXECUTORS OR ADMINISTRATORS A
RENEWAL LICENSE MAY BE ISSUED FOR A PERIOD NOT
TO EXTEND BEYOND THE SECOND DATE SUBSEQUENT
TO THE DECEASE OF THE LICENSE HOLDER BY WHICH
LICENSES MUST BE REGULARLY AND ANNUALLY RE-
NEWED. FURTHERMORE, UPON ANOTHER SHOWING OF
GOOD CAUSE BY THE EXECUTORS OR ADMINISTRATORS
