men," to provide that assault on firemen shall be a felony, to

provide that interference with or obstruction of a fireman acting
in his official capacity
WHILE THE FIREMAN IS FIGHTING
A FIRE OR PROCEEDING TO A FIRE OR OTHER EMER-
GENCY shall be a felony MISDEMEANOR, and to provide penal-
ties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 11D be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1968
Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments," to follow immediately
after Section 11C thereof and to be under the new subtitle "Assault
on Firemen; Interfering with or Obstructing Official Duties," and
to read as follows:

Assault on Firemen; Interfering with or Obstructing Official Duties
FIREMEN.

11D.

(a) It is unlawful for any person to beat, strike, or otherwise

assault a fireman while the fireman is acting in his official capacity.

(b) (A) It is unlawful for any person willfully to interfere with
or obstruct a fireman, while the fireman is acting in his official
capacity FIGHTING A FIRE OR PROCEEDING TO A FIRE OR
OTHER EMERGENCY.

(c) (B) Violation of this section is a felony MISDEMEANOR
punishable by imprisonment for not less than three (3) years or more
than
ten (10) THREE (3) years.

(C) JURISDICTION TO TRY PERSONS CHARGED WITH
THIS OFFENSE IS IN THE CIRCUIT COURT, BUT IN BALTI-
MORE CITY, THE MUNICIPAL COURT AND CRIMINAL COURT
HAVE CONCURRENT JURISDICTION.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not apply
to any such offense committed prior to July 1, 1969.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to add new Section 21A B to Article 83 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supple-
ment), title "Sales and Notices," subtitle "Consumer Protection,"
to follow immediately after Section 21 thereof, to require that a
written, signed acceptance by the sendee of any credit card or card
of identification for credit purposes, by a sender, when sent
volun-
tarily or without solicitation or
application by the sendee, be
