CHAPTER 218
(Senate Bill 323)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 7 of
Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement
Volume), title "Public Service Commission Law," subtitle "Public
Service Commission," subheading "Commissioners," increasing the
compensation of the Commissioners of the Public Service Com-
mission.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 7 of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume), title "Public Service Commission Law,"
subtitle "Public Service Commission," subheading "Commissioners,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

7.

The compensation of the chairman shall be [nine] fifteen
TWELVE thousand dollars [($9,000.00)] ($15,000,00) ($12,000.00)
per year and that of each of the other commissioners shall be
[eight] fourteen NINE thousand dollars [($8,000.00)] ($14,000.00)
($9,000.00) per year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1969, applicable solely to the term of the Commissioner
beginning as of June 1, 1969, and thereafter the effective date as to
the terms of the other commissioners shall be June 1,1971 applicable
solely to the term of the Commissioner beginning as of June 1, 1971,
and June 1, 1973, applicable solely to the term of the Commissioner
beginning as of June 1, 1973.

(Senate Bill 336)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (g)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," pertaining only to Prince George's
County, to increase the number of full-time assistant State's
Attorneys and to eliminate the number of part-time assistant
State's Attorneys.
