other law. Before entering upon his duties, each such district in-
spector shall take the oath prescribed by the Constitution. Each
district inspector shall be reimbursed his necessary traveling ex-
penses upon monthly accounts properly supported by vouchers ap-
proved by the Director, within such amount as shall not exceed such
allowance as may from time to time be provided therefor by appro-
priation or other law.

The Governor shall, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of
Natural Resources,
appoint from the list of eligibles previously es-
tablished by the State Commissioner of Personnel, an Inspector of
Weights and Mine Scales, and said Inspector of Weights and Mine
Scales shall be paid such salary, and provided with such equipment,
as may from time to time be provided for in the budget. Before en-
tering upon his duties, said Weights and Mine Scales Inspector shall
take the oath prescribed by the Constitution. Such Weights and
Mine Scales Inspector shall be reimbursed for his necessary traveling
expenses upon monthly accounts properly supported by vouchers
approved by the Director, within such amount as shall not exceed
such allowance as may from time to time be provided therefor by the
budget, and said Inspector of Weights and Mine Scales shall be
subject to such rules and regulations as to the performance of his
duties, including the making of reports, as may from time to time
be established by the Director.

Upon the recommendation of the Director, concurred in by the
Secretary of Natural Resources,
the Governor shall appoint two
persons, one a miner and the other an operator, who with the Direc-
tor shall constitute an Examining Board, of which the Director shall
be chairman, ex officio. Each of such persons shall be a citizen of
the United States and a resident of the State of Maryland, not less
than thirty years of age, shall have had not less than five years'
practical experience in the coal mining industry immediately pre-
ceding his appointment, and shall be a man of integrity, known in-
telligence and knowledge of his occupation. Such members shall re-
main in office until upon like recommendation their successors or any
of them are appointed and qualified. Before entering upon their
duties each of the members of such Examining Board shall take and
subscribe the oath provided by the Constitution. Such Examining
Board shall be provided such office room, meeting space, equipment,
stenographic and other assistance, supplies and facilities as may be
approved by the [Governor] Secretary of Natural Resources. Steno-
graphic help and other employees of the Board shall be selected in
accordance with the rules of the State Commissioner of Personnel.
Each of such associate members shall be paid for each day of services
rendered as member, a salary of twelve dollars, together with neces-
sary traveling expenses, not exceeding two hundred dollars in any
