CHAPTER 137
(Senate Bill 572)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 255 (s)
of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Testamentary Law," subtitle "Orphans'
Court," to provide for a change in compensation of the judges of
the Orphans' Court for Washington County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 255 (s) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Testamentary Law," subtitle
"Orphans' Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

255.

(s) Compensation in Washington County.—Each of the judges of
the Orphans' Court for Washington County shall receive [ten] fif-
teen dollars [$10.00] ($15.00) for every day's attendance upon the
session of said court, not to exceed [twelve] eighteen hundred dol-
lars [$1,200.00] ($1,800.00) in any one year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the present judges
in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this
Act shall take effect with the next term of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
