($750.00). Any bill for funeral expenses contracted for an amount
in excess of seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00) shall be null
and void and uncollectible out of the compensation allowed or out
of the personal assets of the person or persons to whom such com-
pensation is payable, unless and until said bill is approved by the
Commission; provided, however, that if there are no dependents all
expenses of last sickness and burial shall be paid by the employer
or insurance company, or out of the State Accident Fund, as the
case may be.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 111
(Senate Bill 237)

AN ACT to add a new Section 52 to Article 78A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supple-
ment) , title "Public Works," subtitle "Artistic Property," to follow
immediately after Section 51 thereof, providing the Board of
Public Works shall appoint a Commission on Artistic Property
with duties relating to valuable paintings and other decorative
arts in all State buildings and premises in the Annapolis area and
relating generally to the membership, powers, duties, operations,
functions, and finances of the Commission and of the powers and
duties of other officers and agencies in relation thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 52 be and it is hereby added to Article 78A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and
1968 Supplement), title "Public Works," subtitle "Artistic Prop-
erty," to follow immediately after Section 51 thereof, and to read
as follows:

Artistic Property
52.

(a)   The Board of Public Works shall appoint three persons as a
Commission on Artistic Property, to keep a continuing inventory of
valuable paintings and other decorative arts in all State buildings
and premises in the Annapolis area. The Commission also shall pro-
vide for the location, proper care, custody, restoration, display, and
preservation of these paintings and other decorative arts.

(b)   The members of the Commission shall serve at the pleasure
of the Board of Public Works. They shall receive no salary but may
be compensated from time to time for reasonable expenses incurred
in the discharge of their duties. From time to time the Governor
shall appoint one member of the Commission to serve as its chairman.

(c)   The Commission shall have such staff and funds as provided
in the Budget. Also, and with the approval of the Governor, the
