CHAPTER 108
(Senate Bill 213)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 20 (j-2),
41 (b-2), 56, 90 (b) (2), 138 and 158 (m) of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Alcoholic
Beverages," subtitles "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses," "General
Provisions on Issue of Licenses," "Application for License," "Hours
and Days for Sale," "Taxation," and "Boards of License Commis-
sioners," amending the alcoholic beverages laws of this State in
order to make certain corrections in the language and references
thereof.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 20 (j-2), 41 (b-2), 56, 90 (b) (2), 138 and 158 (m) of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitles "Beer, Wine and Liquor Li-
censes," "General Provisions on Issue of Licenses," "Application for
License," "Hours and Days for Sale," "Taxation," and "Boards of
License Commissioners," be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

20.

(j-2) Same—Montgomery County [[Country] country club or local
post, etc., of certain national organizations.—Any corporation, club
or organization which is a country club as defined in this article or
eleemosynary and is a local post, chapter, lodge, council or branch
of a national organization having a membership of more than 300,000
and which said local post, chapter, lodge, council or branch has a
minimum dues-paying membership of more than 200 members may,
upon receiving this license, allow alcoholic beverages to be consumed
on its premises. This license provided for above shall permit the
consumption of alcoholic beverages by a bona fide member or his
guest on the premises of the country club or eleemosynary corpora-
tion, club or organization if said alcoholic beverages are supplied by
a bona fide member. The hours during which the privileges conferred
by this license may be exercised, shall be from 11:00 A.M. of one
day to 1:00 o'clock A.M. on the following day. The annual fee for such
a license shall be $150.00.

(b-2) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this section, in
Baltimore City the holder of a ["Class B"] Class B (on sale—hotels
and restaurants) beer, wine and liquor [licenses] license under this
article, by making application in the regular manner and paying the
usual fee, may obtain additional ["Class B"] Class B (on sale—hotels
and restaurants) beer, wine and liquor licenses for premises operated
as a public hotel and having one hundred or more rooms, or as an
apartment house having one hundred fifty or more apartments pro-
vided, however, that no such licensee may obtain or hold at any one
time more than three Class B (on sale—hotels and restaurants) beer,
wine and liquor licenses.
