1916                              MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

Section 6. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That as soon as the
Charter amendment hereby made shall become effective, either as herein
provided or following a referendum, the Mayor shall send separately, by
registered mail, to the Secretary of the State of Maryland, and to the
Department of Legislative Reference of Maryland, a complete certified
copy of the text of this Resolution, the date of the Referendum, if any is
held, a certificate showing the number of Councilmen voting for and
against it, and a report on the votes cast for or against the amendment
hereby enacted at any Referendum thereon, and the effective date of the
Charter amendment.

This Resolution passed this 17th day of June, 1968.

The Charter amendment enacted by the aforegoing Resolution be-
came effective this 6th day of August, 1968.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, That the aforegoing Resolution, amending the
Charter of the City of Cumberland, Maryland, was passed this 17th
day of June, 1968, with three votes in the affirmative and one vote in the
negative.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, That the aforegoing is a true and exact copy
of Charter Amendment Resolution No. 35 passed by the Mayor and City
Council of Cumberland, Maryland, in Regular Session, on June 17, 1968.

I FURTHER CERTIFY, That there was no Petition for a Referen-
dum on the proposed amendment filed within the required time and, there
fore, the same became effective on August 6, 1968.

Charter Amendment Resolution No. 36

Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, Maryland,
adopted pursuant to the authority contained in Article 11-E of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland, and Section 13 of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, entitled "Municipal Corpora-
tions," as said section was enacted by Chapter 423 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1955, entitled "A Resolution to amend
the Charter of the City of Cumberland, Maryland (1966 Edition), by
repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Section 33, which is
found under the subtitle 'Board of Health' and deals with the com-
position of the Board of Health and duties generally of the Health
Officer."

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUN-
CIL OF CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND, That Section 33 of the Charter
of the City of Cumberland, under the subtitle "Board of Health," (1966
Edition) and reads as follows, be and the same is hereby repealed:

[The Health Officer shall be the secretary of the board of health.
He shall be charged with the duty of enforcing all quarantine regulations
and of keeping the streets, alleys and sidewalks of said city, and all prem-
