MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                      1739

The observance of a 300th anniversary is a mark of the antiquity
and of the excellence of our institutions. The General Assembly
commends Dorchester County as one of the great jewels in its
diadem of government and sends its sincere best wishes to this
great, old county and to its modern, progressive citizens; now, there-
fore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the warm
regards, affectionate greetings, and hearty congratulations of the
General Assembly of Maryland and of the citizens of Maryland are
extended to Dorchester County and its people upon the occasion of
their 300th anniversary as one of the counties of Maryland; and be
it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland is directed to
send copies of this Resolution under the Great Seal of the State of
Maryland to the Board of County Commissioners of Dorchester
County and to each member of the Dorchester County Delegation in
the General Assembly; and be it further

Resolved, That the County Commissioners of Dorchester County
are requested to publicize among the people of the county, this
expression of esteem and affection from the General Assembly of
Maryland.

Approved May 2, 1969.

No. 8
(Senate Joint Resolution 36)

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the State Treasurer to furnish
the General Assembly at the start of each yearly session with a
listing of expenses for various bond bills for which bonds were
issued during the prior year.

Whereas, in the past, the practice has been to include in each bill
for State Bonds a section designating the maximum amount which
can be expended for costs of the bonds; and

Whereas, the Bond Bills now being submitted to the General
Assembly will merely state "so much money as may be required"
rather than a maximum amount for expenses; and

Whereas, as a matter of procedure, bonds are sold in issues which
cover more than one Bond Bill, with the understanding that expenses
will be allocated among the various Bond Bills covered in any one
issue; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, that the State
Treasurer be requested to furnish the General Assembly with a list-
ing of the allocated expenses for the various Bond Bills included in
Bond Issues for the prior year, and that this listing be submitted at
the start of each yearly session of the General Assembly; and, be it
further

Resolved, that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the State
Treasurer.

Approved May 2, 1969.
