of Baltimore or] the county commissioners of any county, or the
municipal authorities of any incorporated city or town in this State,
make to them a written report of the examination made by him
regarding any fire happening within their respective jurisdictions.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That new Section 14A be and
it is hereby added to Article 38A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, title "Fires and Investigations," subtitle "Fire Prevention Com-
mission and Fire Marshal," to follow immediately after Section 14
thereof and to read as follows:

14A.

Notwithstanding any provisions in the foregoing Sections 1-14
inclusive, the powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by these
sections upon the State Fire Prevention Commission and the State
Fire Marshal and any Ccode
, regulation or practice promulgated by
them under the authority thereof shall not apply to or within Balti-
more City,
EXCEPT THAT THE STATE FIRE CODE SHALL
APPLY IN BALTIMORE CITY TO HOSPITALS, NURSING
HOMES AND SIMILAR INSTITUTIONS WHICH REQUIRE
STATE LICENSURE.

WHEN REQUESTED BY THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMIS-
SIONERS AND THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF
BALTIMORE CITY, THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL AND THE
STATE FIRE PREVENTION COMMISSION SHALL PROVIDE
ANY AND ALL ASSISTANCE NECESSARY TO ENFORCE
FIRE PREVENTION REGULATIONS IN BALTIMORE CITY.

THE BALTIMORE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT SHALL RE-
PORT TO THE APPROPRIATE AGENCY ANY NONCOMPLI-
ANCE WITH THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE OR REGULA-
TIONS OF BALTIMORE CITY, OR THE FIRE PREVENTION
REQUIREMENTS OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND OR THE
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN STATE OWNED PROPERTY
AND IN HOSPITALS, NURSING HOMES, INSTITUTIONS, AND
SCHOOLS WHERE STATE LICENSES OR STATE OR FED-
ERAL MONIES ARE INVOLVED.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 1177)

AN ACT to add new Section 120A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," to follow im-
mediately after Section 120 thereof, and to be under the new sub-
heading "Grocery Carts," to provide that removal or damage of
grocery carts shall be a misdemeanor, and prescribe punishment
therefor.
