35A. Certain persons engaged in fire fighting and temporary or
part-time employees of the Maryland Department of Forests
and Parks.

(a)    Applicability: All forest wardens, registered crewmen, and
all persons hired or engaged by the Maryland Department of Forests
and Parks for firefighting, whether such firefighting takes place in
or out of the State of Maryland, shall be deemed employees of the
Maryland Department of Forests and Parks and workmen for wages
engaged in extra-hazardous employment within the meaning of this
article, while so hired or engaged, regardless of whether they be so
employed temporarily or part-time or full-time.

(b)    Wages, salary, etc., upon which compensation based:

Compensation for injury or death of such persons shall be based
upon the salary or wages received by such persons while so hired or
engaged and if there be no such salary or wages, or such salary or
wages be less than in their private employment, then the base shall
be the salary or wages received in their private employment; and if
such person have no private employment but has income from a source
other than salary or wages, such compensation shall be based upon

such other source of income; all subject, however, to the limits set

out in this article; and if such person has no employment and OR
has no source of income, compensation shall be the minimum compen-
sation as is set out in this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 1314)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Allegany County, Maryland, to borrow an amount not to exceed
three million dollars ($3,000,000.00), and to issue bonds, promis-
sory notes or other certificates of indebtedness therefore, for the
purpose of acquiring land and the construction, expanding, reno-
vating, or altering certain existing public school facilities, and
the equipment needed for the operation of said public school facili-
ties in Allegany County and matters incident thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Allegany County, a body corpo-
rate, in order to provide funds for the purpose of acquiring land
and the construction, expanding, renovating, or altering certain
existing public school facilities, and equipment needed for operation
of said public school facilities in Allegany County, are authorized
and empowered to borrow from time to time, in such amounts as
the Board of County Commissioners shall deem necessary, money
on the faith and credit of said county, and to issue therefor the
promissory notes or bonds or other certificates of indebtedness of
the county; provided, however, that in the aggregate said notes,
