(House Bill 1001)

AN ACT to add new Sections 20(1) and 21 (e) to Article 36 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement and 1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle "Justices of the
Peace," to follow immediately after Sections 20(k) and 21(d),
respectively, thereof to provide for the establishment of fees al-
lowed to justices of the peace in Dorchester County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 20(1) and 21(e) be and are hereby added to
Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement and
1965 Replacement Volume), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle "Justices
of the Peace," to follow immediately after Sections 20(k) and 21(d),
respectively, thereof and to read as follows:

20.

(l) In Dorchester County, notwithstanding any other provisions
of this section, the justices of the peace shall be entitled to receive
such fees as are established by rules of court.

21.

(e) In Dorchester County, notwithstanding any other provi-
sions of this section, they shall be entitled to be paid in criminal
cases such fees as are established by rules of court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 714 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition,
being Article 4 of the Code of Public Laws of Maryland), title
"Baltimore City," subtitle "Special Paving Tax," as said section
was last amended by Chapter 825 of the Acts of 1963, amending
certain laws concerning the special paving tax in Baltimore City
in order to correct references clarifying the language and remove
certain obsolete provisions therefrom.
