amounts the County Commissioners of Calvert County are au-
thorized to appropriate the various fire departments and rescue
squads in the county and to provide that the County Commission-
ers bear the expense of auditing the appropriations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 175 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert County
(1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Calvert County," subtitle "Fire Companies and
Fair Board," last amended by Chapter 272 of the Acts of 1965, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

175.

The County Commissioners of Calvert County are hereby author-
ized and directed to appropriate annually to be distributed on a
semi-annual basis, the corresponding amounts to each of the follow-
ing: (1) North Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. [six] ten
thousand dollars [$6,000] ($10,000); (2) Calvert County Volunteer
Fire Department, Inc., [six] ten thousand dollars [$6,000]
($10,000); (3) Second District Rescue Squad, Inc. [four] eight
thousand dollars [$4,000] ($8,000); (4) [a rescue squad to be in-
corporated in the Third Election District, four thousand dollars
($4,000)] North Beach Rescue Division, eight thousand dollars
($8,000);
[(5) Calvert Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Division,
Inc., ten thousand dollars ($10,000), six thousand dollars ($6,000)
to be advanced to the Fire Division and four thousand dollars
($4,000) to be advanced to the Rescue Squad.] (5) Solomons Rescue
Squad and Fire Department, Inc., ten thousand dollars ($10,000)
to the fire department and eight thousand dollars ($8,000) to the
Rescue Squad.
In addition to the amounts above stated, in an
emergency and subject to the approval of the remaining companies
above listed, a company may request and the County Commissioners
may grant additional funds to a company. The County Commission-
ers are authorized and directed to SHALL appropriate annually a
sum to be determined by them of not less than one thousand dollars
($1,000) nor more than three
THE SUM OF TWO thousand dollars
($3,000) ($2,000) to the Fair Board of Calvert County, said sum
to be distributed on a semi-annual basis. The County Commissioners
are further authorized to appropriate in an emergency a sum to be
determined by them to the Calvert County Hospital. Any expense
of furnishing a certified public accountant's financial statement to
account for the appropriations herein provided shall be at the expense
of the County Commissioners of Calvert County.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this
Act shall not be construed to extend or apply to the fiscal year in
which this Act becomes effective.
