MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                       1565

title "Kent County," subtitle "Plumbing and Health," providing
that in Kent County certain approved plastic piping and fittings
may be used in specified plumbing work.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 478 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County
(1968 Edition, being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Kent County," subtitle "Plumbing and Health,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to
read as follows:

478.

All plumbing work done in the County in and about, or in con-
nection with any building, must conform to the Plumbing Code ap-
proved by the Maryland State Board of Commissioners of Practical
Plumbing and with the regulations of the State Board of Health[.]
, provided that chlorinated poly-vinyl chloride plastic piping and
fittings may be used for the distribution of hot and cold potable water
in residential and commercial installations; and provided that poly-
vinyl chloride plastic piping and fittings may be used for drain, waste
and vent in any plumbing work done in the county. The use or in-
stallation of the plastic piping and fitting must conform to the
standards of the National Sanitation Foundation.
All indoor plumb-
ing fixtures must be installed under the supervision of a plumber
holding a Kent County plumbing license. Installation of approved
dry wells, septic tanks, cesspools or the tile fields must be done under
the supervision of a plumber holding a Kent County plumbing license,
unless the work is being done by the property owner himself, unless
said property is rental property, or as otherwise stated herein.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 710
(House Bill 939)

AN ACT to add new Section 481A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and
Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," to follow
immediately after Section 481 thereof and to be under the new
subheading "Rifles and Shotguns," providing that it shall be law-
ful for residents of adjacent states to purchase rifles or shotguns
from a federally licensed dealer in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 481A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title
"Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," to
follow immediately after Section 481 thereof and to be under the
new subheading "Rifles and Shotguns," and to read as follows:
