CHAPTER 701
(House Bill 885)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 208 (c)
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (1968 Edition,
being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Kent County," subtitle "County Treasurer," providing that
the County Treasurer of Kent County may invest in certain
securities other than United States Government bonds.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 208(c) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent
County (1968 Edition, being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Kent County," subtitle "County Treasurer,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

208.

(c) Investments; checks.—All money belonging to the county
received by the Treasurer shall, promptly thereafter, be deposited
in such bank or banks as the County Commissioners may designate,
or in the discretion of the County Commissioners any portion of
said money may be invested in United States Government bonds,
[but in no other security] in bank or other incorporated stock,
or in any other good security; but no money shall be drawn from the
said bank or banks except by a check signed by the Treasurer,
Deputy Treasurer, or President of the Board of County Commis-
sioners or in the absence of the said President of the Board of
County Commissioners then the member of the Board of County
Commissioners who is acting as presiding officer.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 889)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 300B
(b) and Section 304B(b) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume, 1968 Supplement), title
"Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 31. Community Colleges,"
providing for the establishment of the commencement date of the
term of office of members of local and regional boards of com-
munity college trustees.
